過去世のお話 — 妖精編・続編 — 空想の世界に住むポピーちゃんその後

‘Poppy is an Enigma.’

‘Poppy is an Enigma.’ my husband drops this when he feels the strain from dealing with her uniqueness. Poppy has always been unique. She went extra mile in order to avoid contact with other children of her age and always preferred playing on her own. This tendency made us think that she lacked basic social skills which were vital for anyone to build friendship and relationship with others. Other uniqueness, she was always highly sensitive to music and noise, and often end up in tears when she came across music unexpectedly, saying the music is too quiet, too sad, too loud, etc…
Also she hardly made eye-contact even when she was talking to you eagerly, often looking elsewhere to appear not being with it. When she was turning 4 she started showing hysteric act,,, one moment crying then giggling straight after. We suspected disorder and spoke to people but nobody could diagnose what was happening in her mind. We were at a loss and wearing out.

Poppy only knew that she would meet a new friend on the day Miyabi Kei was due to come. When she returned home from her nursery Miyabi Kei was already there, waiting. The moment Poppy saw Miyabi Kei getting off her car, she had a crush on her. In no time at all she positioned herself in front of Miyabi Kei, stretched her hand for a handshake and ushered Miyabi Kei into the house. As if saying there is no time to waste, Poppy invited Miyabi Kei to her room. Miyabi Kei let her take charge, watched Poppy bubbling happily with occasional physical contact.
As soon as Poppy left the scene Miyabi Kei told me understandingly that Poppy was a fairy in her past life, pointing a Moomin Troll story book Poppy casually left on the table.
My little girl was a fairy at some point in her past lives.

Now it turned out that Poppy was an extraordinary being in the past and this answered to my questions. Fairies relay nature and us. I remember Poppy as a 3-month-old baby looking up at trees swaying in gentle breeze. Poppy, for being a nature lover, hates races and is extremely sympathetic to others on the contrary, must have found it hard to cope with harsh children`s world.

Keeping time, doing what she was asked to do and keep up, Poppy appeared having no comprehension of vital social skills. This is where her uniqueness overlaps with spectrum. It is, perhaps, because her soul still lives closer to the nature than to our human world. As Miyabi Kei points out our Poppy has a high intelligence which is a clear contrast to her age. Poppy’s mental and physical growth is not in good balance.
