A medium will often start a message by saying words such as your Mother is with us and she informs me………. followed by specific information about her life and their relationship. No two messages from Spirit are ever the same.
Disturbing the dead
Over many years several people have said to me the medium disturbs the dead. Although I understand their opinion, I know this is not true. They are not sleeping under a tombstone or far away in some distant land. Spirit people do not live in physical bodies and are not bound by space time like we are. They come to let us know they are alive, to ease our grief, to advise and most of all to tell us they love us, they WANT to communicate! Nearly all of us have mobile phones and we don’t answer a call if we don’t want to speak to anyone and neither does the unseen world. Love is the power that keeps us connected in this world and also in the next; love is also the power and energy in which mediumship happens.
Awareness
Some say mediums are born with the ability and others say everyone can develop mediumistic awareness. Everyone can develop their sensitivity in all areas of life but some people are naturally more sensitive to the needs of others. A deep desire to help relieve the sadness and pain from others enables one to tap into more of their potential and develop a higher level of mediumship and provide more clarity. We all have different paths and experiences in this life and for some their experiences will not include mediumship in anyway whilst others may have events in their life that spark an interest and awareness of the spirit world and how to communicate with them. Developing a high standard of mediumship takes many years and no matter how good somebody gets there is always room for refinement. There are different aspects within mediumship that allow us to use our senses to receive information, including seeing, hearing, feeling, and smelling. All mediums use these facets of mediumship in different ways and some see more than they hear and some feel more than they see, we are all different and we all communicate differently with each other so this is no different when in communication with the Spirit World.
Often the first stage in developing mediumship to help others is to make the decision I want to do it! And it really helps one to know ‘I can do it’. There is a wonderful balance between self-belief, confidence and arrogance. It’s often the humblest who have the most potential, unfortunately their humility causes them to lack confidence and self-belief. Over time people learn to become more confident and start to know they can become an accurate medium. If one is arrogant it hinders their learning because they quickly become over confident and don’t have a realistic view of their progress and their learning needs. It’s much easier to express love and confidence in the Spirit World than it is to ourselves. In order for mediumship to flow there has to be balance. Always remember we are at one with all life and this world and the world of Spirit are one. Therefore, you cannot truly love one without the other
